Two sisters reconcile with their arsonist brother.
——
Firehawk is a character drama about birds, family, and arson.
Firehawk was a deeply challenging film to make, due to a crucial technical factor - no electric lights were used during production; the film was instead lit entirely by firelight. Fire proved to be an unpredictable and difficult force to work with, but the film is left with a unique and textured aesthetic.
Alongside these camera department innovations, Firehawk has received festival recognition for its script - a combination of monologues spoken by three characters. Awards include:
Best Writing, White Deer International Film Festival 2020
Honourable Mention - Best Original Screenplay, Prague International Film Festival 2020
